Return an Error When Posting a Duplicate Torrent To the Web API
As it currently stands, I need to decrypt the meta-info client side, run it through a hash function and run a comparison with all current torrent jobs by polling for them JIT style or keeping an automatically refreshed list of them, which is a waste of resources if that job info isn't used for anything else.

Add into utorrent installation/configuration scripts
Add utorrent installation/configuration scripts,
which allow:
create utorrent's system services (in /etc/init.d/ dir),
set linux cpu and io priority
set permission for files (umask utils)
set locale and owner for files
allow to create multiple services - for each user
probably update utorrent
and many other...something like already done in this script: https://gitorious.org/utorrent-install/utorrent-install/blobs/master/utorrent-install

add tracker status to the webui
utserver (linux) users currently have no way to know tracker status of a torrent
a torrent might never start and the user will never know the error sent by the tracker

Drop slower seeds/peers at end of download
I often find that downloads will drift along at a nice pace until close to the end; waiting for slow peers to finish their transfers. It would be nice, if a speed slump close to the end of the download is detected, to resubmit the block requests to recently connected fast peers instead, so that the last few estimated seconds don't drag on for minutes.

* file permissions
* demonizing scripts(init.d/rc.d)
* move the webserver to apache/lighthttpd
* use package manages or make a installation Makefile + updator
* put the config-file in a more universal format11 votes -

Support 64-bits Linux
If you do not plan to release source code, then at least provide 64-bits Linux binaries.
155 votesWe will, but we had to make the core 64-bit compatible first. With the release of the 64-bit Windows client, the Linux one will be coming soon.

Make uTorrent keep log file under linux
When utorrent is shutdown or crashes and is restarted the log is wiped. This may have info as to why or other useful data.

Adding new torrents to utserver
Problem: Adding torrent magnet link or torrent link.
Would be nice to see some kind of small application, that would handle adding torrents to the utserver.

WEBUI improvements
It is proposed to make mandatory or optional loading settings in the webui from utorrent.conf at daemon startup. Now have to make the setting (for ex. dir_acrive, dir_autoload etc.) twice - during the primary server configuration in utorrent.conf, then in the webui.
Provide export the changed settings from the webui into utorrent.conf. For example, the buttons "Apply" and "Apply & Save", or at least the checkbox next to the button "Apply" - "[x] with save". If the user just need to check some settings, he presses the "Apply". By exporting the settings in utorrent.konf, he get "ready to work" server…20 votes -
