Make a uTorrent for Linux
A uTorrent for Linux would be very nice.
7,135 votesWe’ve now released a headless Linux client!
We’re still working on the GUI, but if you’re looking for a version to run on your server, check out http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/linux -

Have qt and gtk interfaces for upcoming linux version.
It is just plain logical kde users don't wanna use gnome programs, so why not make everybody happy.

Make uTorrent run without gui, only launching web interface (ex: use as windows service or in a NAS)
Make uTorrent run without requiring a graphical environment.
This will be usefull if I want to set uTorrent as a Windows service.
Also intessing would be to use it in unix systems (a NAS for example, with or without wine)
368 votesWe have a headless (no desktop GUI) uTorrent available for Linux. I’ve moved this suggestion to that project’s IdeaBank.

Enable Windows client to connect to and control Linux server
In a household with multiple client machines and central server, I'd like to have a consolidated download queue (manage bandwidth at a single point, allow visibility between clients, etc.) It would be great if the Windows uTorrent client could communicate with the Linux server API and provide an interface as if the user was on the server (allowing multiple client simultaneously.)

Support 64-bits Linux
If you do not plan to release source code, then at least provide 64-bits Linux binaries.
155 votesWe will, but we had to make the core 64-bit compatible first. With the release of the 64-bit Windows client, the Linux one will be coming soon.

uTorrent Software Appliance
uTorrent Linux combined with a hardened a 32-bit/64-bit Operating System based on Linux Kernel as burnable ISO image.
Pros:
* No exploitable/vulnerable system services
* No conflicting applications
* Easy to install and deploy
* Optimized for performance
* Small free space occupied
* Encapsulates an application's dependencies in a pre-integrated, self-contained unit
* Simplify software deployment by freeing users from having to worry about resolving potentially complex OS compatibility issues, library dependencies or undesirable interactions with other applicationsNote: It should also contains simple FTP Server.
Note #2: It does not fit to either 'uTorrent for Windows' nor 'uTorrent…

Executing scripts on torrent events
I would like to be able to automatically run a script for torrents in certain categories. Much like SabNZBD+ actually!

add tracker status to the webui
utserver (linux) users currently have no way to know tracker status of a torrent
a torrent might never start and the user will never know the error sent by the tracker

WEBUI improvements
It is proposed to make mandatory or optional loading settings in the webui from utorrent.conf at daemon startup. Now have to make the setting (for ex. dir_acrive, dir_autoload etc.) twice - during the primary server configuration in utorrent.conf, then in the webui.
Provide export the changed settings from the webui into utorrent.conf. For example, the buttons "Apply" and "Apply & Save", or at least the checkbox next to the button "Apply" - "[x] with save". If the user just need to check some settings, he presses the "Apply". By exporting the settings in utorrent.konf, he get "ready to work" server…20 votes
