µTorrent for Windows

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. have built in one-click "move data files" and "move .torrent files" functionality

Vuze has this functionality and while I don't use Vuze for torrenting, I will sometimes boot it up just to use these features. They save tons of time.

Yes, managing files kinda sucks in µTorrent right now. We’ll try to get this done for 2.2 as well to make it easier. Set download location will probably be renamed and will move the content for you, all in one step.

Oh, and we’ll make ‘Relocate’ on the Files tab work the same way.

    • progress bar for updates

simple stuff. All I want is a small progress bar when utorrent downloads an update.
An update is never successful when my family is on the pc! They just think its stuck and close it!

      • Limit the size of torrent files downloaded through RSS

Sometimes, files that are not torrents show up in RSS feeds, and if they match your filters uTorrent will attempt to download it over and over, wasting a significant amount of bandwidth. I suggest an option that lets the user set the maximum size of a torrent download by RSS. In addition, utorrent should keep track of links that failed due to size so it knows not to retry that torrent again.

What we’ll actually do is just verify whether or not it is a torrent file right at the start, and stop the download if isn’t.
